The Jaguar Land Rover cyberattack
August to October 2025A cyberattack halted production at JLR's UK plants for around five weeks. It is estimated to be the most damaging cyber event in British history, with roughly £1.9 billion of impact to the economy and shockwaves through around 5,000 associated businesses. The UK government underwrote a loan guarantee of up to £1.5 billion so JLR could keep paying suppliers while production was offline.
